If You Thought Arizona’s SB1070 Was Disgusting, This Will Destroy Your Soul

February 23, 2011

Arizona Republicans are going full on StormFront.

PHOENIX (AP) — An Arizona legislative committee on Tuesday narrowly approved a sweeping bill that would target illegal immigrants in public housing, public benefits and the workplace. The Senate committee also approved a bill that would deny automatic citizenship to the children of illegal immigrants, a measure designed to set up a possible U.S. Supreme Court case on the issue.Republican state Sen. Russell Pearce, who authored Arizona’s controversial illegal immigration law last year that touched off a nationwide debate on whether states can enforce federal immigration laws, sponsored the latest measure.”If you’re in the country illegally, you don’t have a right to public benefits, period,” he said.

Passing the bill would place a “dark cloud over Arizona that will make SB1070 tame in comparison,” said Jaime Farrant of the Border Action Network, an advocacy group, referring to last year’s controversial law.The new sweeping measure, approved on a 7-6 vote, advances to the full Senate after a legal review and discussions by party caucuses. Democrats by themselves don’t have the votes to block Pearce’s bill. The measure toughens requirements for employers checking work eligibility of new hires, allowing for their business licenses to be suspended if they don’t use the federal E-Verify system. Workers caught using a false identity to get a job would face mandatory six-month jail sentences. It also requires schools to collect information on the legal status of students and report them to law enforcement if their parents don’t provide the necessary documents or the documents appear false. The bill also seeks a 30-day minimum jail sentence and the seizure of vehicles belonging to any illegal immigrant convicted of driving in the state. In housing, it requires public agencies to verify the immigration status of renters and to evict everyone living in a unit if one is found to be an illegal immigrant.

More from the AP – even some Arizona Republicans find the latest proposal from the Tea Party Terrorists disgusting.

Unadulterated racism at its very purest. Tea Party Terrorists are, of course, lapping it up.

That is the idea, when fascism comes to America it will be wrapped in the flag, carrying the cross.

if illegal immigrants do not pay taxes or benefit society, why should they be able to receive the services provided. With the current economic situation, isn’t it not logical keep the costs down by only allowing actual American citizens to have priority? With the economy the way it is, it is completely irresponsible to have to strain the services with those that do not provide for them. the way it is now, those that play by the rules and pay the taxes are worst off than those here illegally.

    Just think about it.

I have thought about it. Quite a bit actually. In fact, most undocumented workers do pay taxes, either in the form of sales tax, payroll taxes under a false SSN, or more often, both. In fact, studies indicate that they pay more into the system than they receieve, as they will never qualify for medicaid, medicare or social security.
Further, as for letting Americans take priority, the union representing agricultrual workers has an ongoing campaign “Please take our jobs” It has been going on almost a year now, and apparently only 7 (that’s SEVEN) Americans really wanted the jobs that undocumented hispanics have been preforming.
Also, please bear in mind, that in order to get Americans to do these jobs, even teenagers, employers would have to pay them much more. Now, who do you think that cost is going to be passed on to? You, that’s who. You enjoy artificially low prices on a variety of products and services because of the undocumented workers working for artificially low wages. And for these very reasons, the ever conservative bastion, the US Chamber of Commerce, lobbies against stricter immigration laws.

Problem is, quite a few of them DO pay taxes. Besides, by your logic, a sick man on the side of the road only deserves to be saved if he can prove that he is a citizen of our country. What happened to those good Christian values that command people to love others? Arguing that legal US citizens are somehow living a harder life than “illegals” is ridiculous, and shows you haven’t worked bottom-feeder jobs in a long time. NO ONE wants their jobs, and they work a hell of a lot harder for their sub-minimum wage than I do for my $7.25/hr. Most questionably legal people I’ve worked with hold multiple jobs, pay taxes, and generally try not to strain the system, as it will draw attention to themselves. Of course, there are exceptions to every rule.
